Dear members of the academic community,

On behalf of the Research Council of Lithuania, we are pleased to invite you to the Lithuanian Science Forum “When Science Builds Bridges”, taking place on 20 October 2026 in the Great Hall of the Research Council of Lithuania (Gedimino Ave. 3, Vilnius).

This year’s forum will focus on science diplomacy and its role in strengthening Lithuania’s position in the international research landscape. As Lithuania prepares to assume the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the forum will bring together leaders from academia, politics and diplomacy to discuss strategic international partnerships, European competitiveness, and the role of science in building long-term relationships between countries.

The Lithuanian Science Forum is part of International Science Week “(re)SEARCH 2026”, taking place in Vilnius on 19–23 October. The five-day programme will bring together representatives of the Lithuanian and international research, policy, diplomacy and innovation communities to discuss issues shaping the European and global research agenda.
