Aurelija Maknytė, a long-time lecturer at Vilnius College of Design (VCD), is presenting her exhibition “Channels” at the National Gallery of Art in Vilnius, bringing together nearly three decades of her artistic practice.

Aurelija’s work brings together photography, video, television archives, light, technology, nature and observations of everyday life. “Channels” is the first comprehensive presentation of her work, bringing together different stages of her artistic practice, including both well-known and rarely exhibited works.

VDK is proud that Aurelija has been sharing her extensive creative and professional experience with our community for many years. This week, the VDK administration team and students also had the chance to visit her exhibition. Aurelija herself introduced us to the exhibition, sharing the stories behind the works and talking about how they came to be, her creative process and the ideas behind them. We are grateful to Aurelija for this special visit and for giving us a chance to experience the exhibition through her own perspective as an artist.

We invite you to visit “Channels” at the National Gallery of Art in Vilnius. The exhibition is open until October 18.
