Admission Requirements for Applicants from Kazakhstan
Vilnius College of Design welcomes applications from Kazakhstan. Please read the requirements below carefully before applying. Applications that do not meet all of the minimum requirements will not be considered.
- Our Study Programmes
Vilnius College of Design offers 8 technology programmes and 5 design programmes only. See all study programmes
We do not offer business programmes.
If you are looking to study business, management, marketing or a similar field, our college is not the right fit for you. - Technology Programmes
To apply for any of our technology programmes, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Completed general secondary education of at least 11 years (Аттестат жалпы орта білім туралы / Аттестат об общем среднем образовании).
- Unified National Testing (ҰБТ / ЕНТ) results with a minimum total score of 80 (out of 140), and each UNT subject passed at least at the minimum threshold set in Kazakhstan.
- Mathematics as a profile subject of your UNT (for example, Mathematics – Physics, Mathematics – Informatics or Mathematics – Geography), with at least one of the following:
- Mathematics (profile subject): at least 30 out of 50; or
- Informatics (profile subject, in the Mathematics – Informatics combination): at least 30 out of 50.
For test years in which the profile subjects had a different maximum score, at least 60% of the maximum profile-subject score is required.
Mathematical Literacy (a compulsory UNT subject, maximum 10 points) does not count towards this requirement. School (attestat) grades are not considered for the Mathematics requirement.
Applicants with UNT profile subject combinations that do not include Mathematics (for example, Biology – Chemistry) are not eligible for technology programmes, regardless of their scores.
Graduates of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools may submit their UNT certificate issued on the basis of converted school grades. Results of complex testing (КТ) and certificates based on only 10 years of general education are assessed individually, subject to SKVC recommendation.
In line with the recommendations of the Lithuanian Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC), the school-leaving certificate alone does not give access to higher education in your country – this right is obtained only by passing the national entrance examination. Therefore, applicants without valid national examination results are not eligible, regardless of their school grades.
IT aptitude test and motivational interview.
All applicants to our technology programmes also take the Vilnius College of Design IT aptitude test and a motivational interview. The test is taken online and consists of multiple-choice questions. It does not assess knowledge of IT or programming, and no prior IT studies are required: it assesses logical thinking, problem-solving, pattern recognition and attention to detail. Questions include number and pattern sequences, simple logic and word problems, basic calculations (for example, fractions and percentages), directions, coordinates and clock angles, and visual and spatial reasoning (for example, shapes and cube nets). The questions are based on general logic and school-level mathematics, so no special preparation is required. - Design Programmes
Admission to design programmes requires a portfolio.
Each application is evaluated individually, based on the portfolio and the criteria described under “Admission requirements” under each of your chosen programs,
for example Graphic Design - English Language Requirements
