Financing
VCD students can receive various forms of financial support to make their studies more accessible and achievable.
Prospective students who achieve the highest competitive scores can apply for a non-state-funded study place with a scholarship through the LAMA BPO admission system. In this case, the tuition fee is fully covered — the annual scholarship amount corresponds to the programme’s tuition fee (or its normative portion as set by VDK). Students who are awarded a scholarship must submit an electronic application within the designated period (usually August–September). Failure to submit the application on time is considered a waiver of the scholarship.
VDK encourages high-achieving students by awarding incentive scholarships for outstanding academic results. These may be paid to both students with study scholarships and those studying at their own expense (except first-year, first-semester students). The semester incentive scholarship is typically 3 BSI in size (approximately €126 per month), depending on the BSI values set by the Government.
Students may apply for a social scholarship in accordance with state regulations (for those receiving social benefits, from low-income families, or meeting certain social group criteria). There is also an opportunity to apply for one-time social payments or other temporary support (e.g., in cases of severe financial hardship).
Vilnius Design College students can apply for state-supported loans that help cover tuition fees, living expenses, or part of their studies abroad. These loans are offered on favourable terms through credit institutions, and repayment often begins after graduation, with the option of a deferral period.
Students enrolled in non-state-funded places may apply for tuition fee reimbursement if they achieve very good or excellent academic results. Reimbursement is allocated according to the procedure established by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and is aimed at the highest-performing students.
The reimbursement amount corresponds to the normative tuition fee or part of it and is transferred to the student’s personal account. Academic results are assessed after a specified study period (usually after two years of full-time studies).
Vilnius Design College students can receive state and college-provided social support designed to help address temporary financial or social situations during their studies.
Students who meet the state-established social criteria (e.g., those receiving social benefits, from low-income families, or with special social circumstances) may apply for a social scholarship, which is paid monthly for a specified period. Applications are submitted according to the annually announced procedure.
The college may also provide one-time material support to students facing unexpected or difficult life situations (illness, loss of a family member, or other significant circumstances). Support is allocated individually upon evaluation of the student’s request.
Students may be informed about additional support opportunities provided through state programmes, funds, or other institutions, depending on current calls and applicable legislation.
